Under the Weather

Super Sick..

Hello Everyone, hope all you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day with family and friends. I on the other hand have been extremely sick for the past 2 weeks. Miserably sick and I am sooo over it! Started with fever, headache, earache, body aches and as if that wasn't enough a sore throat as well. Couldn't get out of bed for 3 days. After a week of being sick I was in urgent care and diagnosed with Strep Throat (OUCH!). So I was given an antibiotic shot and a steroid shot. The strep throat is apparently so severe it's effecting my neck lymph nodes, so I can't move my neck. Had a second Dr's appointment because I haven't made any improvements. So, more antibiotics and pain killers. Hoping to get better ASAP!!! I can't enjoy the holiday season feeling this way. Just thought I would explain my absence.
Although I did manage to get a project done =)

DIY Flashcards

I made these flash cards for my 4 year-old son who is currently in pre-school. They are fun and durable.

I have collection on pinterest for a few of these printable flash cards. I used this site, thanks so much for these lovely cards. Follow the directions for printing and cutting the flash cards. You will have to cut a bit more from the sides so you can fit 2 cards side by side on a 5x7 self laminating pouch.

I purchased these pouches at the dollar store (SCORE!). They are 5x7 pouches for "laminating" your photos.

First, glue 2 flash cards back to back. Follow the instructions provided with this pouch. Place 2 cards side by side. Once the "laminating" is done. Cut the 5x7 card down the center, between each card. Finish by rounding off any sharp edges. So now you have sturdy double sided flash cards. You can make 10 double sided flash cards for $1.00. This would also be prefect for Alphabet flash cards, one side with upper case lettering and the back side with lower case lettering. Enjoy!

Thanksgiving Invite

Free Printable

I don't cook a Thanksgiving dinner in my house. We usually have about three to four stops that we do on this day. My husband and I are both very close to our family so we try to spend a little time with every one of them. So we chat a lot and eat a little in every stop (and I carry a stash of Tums). The day will usually consist of a breakfast, lunch and dinner. So if you are one of those awesome people who enjoys cooking and having people like us over...Thank you for your hard work! As a thank you, I have created a little invite for you to download, print and send to your guests. Hopefully one less thing for you to worry about.

Here are your card choices: Thanksgiving breakfast, Thanksgiving Lunch and Thanksgiving Dinner. Enjoy!

Gift Idea

Dollar Store Gift

I was browsing a dollar store last week, Dollar Tree to be specific. I was just quickly running
in there to grab some halloween themed treat bags. Luckily I found the last pack. That was my halloween treat giveaway, with candy inside of course. I was on my way to check out when I
spotted this...

A neoprene e-reader sleeve for $1.00, score!!! Not the actual Kindle. Sorry, had to be specific, just in case. Immediately I thought of an idea, so now I share with you! This can be a great stocking stuffer.

What you'll need:

  1. Sleeve
  2. Cricut or any cutting machine
  3. Keep calm and read on svg download
  4. Iron-on vinyl
  5. An iron
I get all my vinyl from here, you just need to decide the amount or size you want to buy. You can download the Keep Calm svg here.

I cut my vinyl to a 5x7 size, trust me you don't want to waste it. I set it on my mat with the glossy side of the vinyl down to the sticky side of my mat. Took my svg file into Sure Cuts A lot software. I got lucky and purchased the software way before Cricut got involved with them, so I am still able to cut anything I want no cartridge needed! The image has to be flipped for it to cut correctly.

You will remove the outer vinyl that you don't need. Same process as wall vinyl. Place your cut on the E-reader sleeve so it reads correctly. Place a lightweight fabric over your sticker and iron it with no steam. Press the iron firmly on the overall design for about 30-45 seconds. Remove the clear plastic sticker quickly after you have ironed it. You're done!

This iron-on vinyl is perfect for making T-shirts with your own design as well. You will be hooked! Enjoy!!

Completely Disconnected...

Yosemite Park

Had such a relaxing weekend. The family and I took a drive out to Yosemite National Park. We arrived at Yosemite Thursday morning and got back home Sunday afternoon. No phone service or wifi at all. At first I was having a bit of an anxiety attack...but I must admit it was nice to be completely disconnected...

Yosemite
Breathtaking right...?

One more just so you can get an idea of how beautiful it was.
Can you believe both these photos were taken with my iphone!
